It's Official! Time Traveler Tours & Tales will open its virtual doors on 24 March 2014, at the Bologna Children's Book Fair with the announcement that we are now soliciting submissions.

In the lead up to the official launch of both company and website (coming very soon!), we would like to introduce each and every one of us.

Today we present Emma D. Dryden, Editorial & Publishing Consultant, who has been time traveling since she was a very little girl, through books and stories.

So passionate is Emma about the world of writing that she has made it her business, and has thus been at the heart of the children's publishing industry for the whole of her adult life.

We are honored and proud to be able to count Emma as one of our time-traveling, storytelling number. Her knowledge of the industry and keen understanding of our craft have already served to catapult our infant start-up to adolescent status!

Please don't forget to add your wishes of welcome and congratulations to Emma in the comments to the right. A special prize will be offered to anyone who can guess where in the world she is in the above image.

We're a Team! Introducing Tessa Laney

Team Time Traveler Tours & Tales is finally official. And in the lead up to the launch of our new company website (coming soon!), we would like to introduce each and all of our new members.

Today we present our Officer of Curation and Communications:

Tessa Laney!

...who is equally happy bopping around in the past as she is hugging the life out of the present. Energetic and full of ideas, Tessa was an instant asset to our burgeoning team.

Tessa has a thing for “living history” and thus was drawn to the Time Traveler Tours & Tales concept right away. Born in a small Renaissance town in the Netherlands and raised in colonial Philadelphia, Tessa is more at home among the old than the new, realizing from an early age that, "history is everywhere, just waiting for us to notice."

She received her bachelor’s degree in Art History from Emory University and went on to a master’s in Arts Administration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She has since applied the knowledge and skills gained at these two venerable institutions at a variety of cultural organizations across the United States, working primarily in archival management, curating historic image collections, grant writing, and institutional development.

Tessa now lives in Paris, where she is completing a master’s in the History and Culture of Paris from the University of London Institute in Paris. She’s here to study the material culture of the late-19th and early-20th centuries—the architecture, decorative arts, fashion, and, of course, artists of the Fin-de-Siècle.  When not in class, Tessa loves traveling, sightseeing, hiking, skiing, and bestowing a wild affection on any and all unwitting animals, especially her five-year-old Australian shepherd, Colby, (and now Sarah’s wildly adorable Gryffindog).

She has joined Team TTT&T to spearhead our many needs with image curation and licensing rights to ensure that we have a comprehensive suite of historic images to complement our tales. She will also help to manage the TTT, LLC email list, advising Sarah in how to keep communications fresh and frequent, and will handle the TTT&T editorial calendar of publications, including blog posts and other social media messaging.

Welcome to the Team, Tessa! Looking forward to making history together!

That’s right, as we slip into 2014, Team Time Traveler Tours & Tales is finally official. And in the lead up to the launch of our new company website (coming soon!), we would like to introduce you to each and all of our members.

Today we present the ever talented and wicked smart new Administrative Assistant & Community Manager:

Caitlin L. Hoffman!

Please click “comments” to the right of this post to add your applause and comments of welcome and congratulations!

Caitlin left the U.K. in 2012 with a BA in History in her hip pocket and a burning desire to apply her passion for the past to new digital media for educational purposes. She set out to cultivate experiences that would enable her combine these personal interests in a professional capacity. Since then, she’s been developing her communications chops and new media skills at a variety of internships in museums and non-profit organizations in New York, London, and Rome.

It is important for the younger generation to truly understand our past so that we can make a better future. With Time Traveler Tours & Tales I look forward to helping make this a reality as we grow and develop new interactive stories.

When she learned that Time Traveler Tours & Tales was looking for a Community Manager, she saw an opportunity to join a start up with a winning concept focused on history, digital media, and education (just her thing!), as well as a great excuse to return to her birth city: Paris, France.

Caitlin is comfortable and capable on a range of social media platforms. In her now three weeks with Team TTT&T she has already made a huge difference in helping to keep our communications frequent and on point and our messaging solid. Her French-English bilingualism and bi-culturalism will prove an asset to the further expansion of TTT&T bilingual products in France as she will also assist in copy-editing and preparing marketing materials for both Anglophone and francophone audiences.

A keen learner, Caitlin is dedicated to keeping up with the latest trends in the digital arena. She stays active on all her social media channels, as well as now the TTT&T’s. She even has her own blog. Be certain to check her out there!

Welcome to the Team, Caitlin! Looking forward to making history together!
